ESAU

“Soteria’s changing my life, and helping me look at life in a better way.”

Two men sitting in stadium seats, smiling and looking at the camera.
Two men are working on a woodworking project in a spacious, modern office space. One man is holding a power drill, and the other man is smiling and making an okay gesture with his hands.

Esau always enjoys the work he’s doing, no matter what it is.

He brings a zen-like, wise energy to the Soteria at Work crew. And when he talks about Soteria, his face splits into a deep, kind smile.

“I prayed about this place before I got out of prison, and I got here, and it was a whole blessing for me,” he said.

His gratefulness for the Soteria staff radiates from him. He’s particularly benefited from lessons about saving money, new job skills, and the staff’s support when he wanted to start school.

“This place ain’t nothing but love,” he said.

In the past, being surrounded by negative people made it difficult to succeed. But now, he is uplifted and motivated to work toward his goals to finish schooling and live a better life.
